Bohemian
Dear Reader,
This is my first ever blog post. I had a dream to become a writer ever since I was a kid. Yes, kid! At this age when I look back a girl in 5th Standard trying to write her first poem in Bengali during her Bengali Literature exam is a mere kid to me. Perhaps that was my very first step towards my dream. By the time I was in my X th Standard I won two poetry competition in our locality. All of a sudden I felt my dream can get the wings of reality if I pursue Humanity as a subject. However, God had some different plans for me and I ended up being a Commerce Graduate, followed by some Post Graduate Degrees and a White Collar Job. During my college days and Post Graduation Days I wrote poems, short stories, plays and many more in different magazines and little magazines still with a hope of becoming an emerging writer.
Life has its very unique way to change its course and baffle us with the inscrutability of the future.Hence a budding writer becomes an accountant or an engineer becomes a best selling writer.
For me it was mostly my thoughts for future socio-financial security which landed me to a White Collar Corporate Zone. While initially I cherished the pomp and gaiety of Corporate along with other perks but this did not last long. The daily mundane routine with hardly a scope of adrenaline rush ( except during appraisal sessions ) soon started taking a toll on me.
A series of mood swings, depression, frustration, failed attempt of changing career followed by self counselling helped me to settle for Corporate for last 10 years.
In between, few articles in little magazine, few poems on Facebook Wall or few stories in my diaries continued fueling my dream. Though the fuel was not enough to Ignite my soul, my sleeping self and my dream.
It was a bright warm evening in Infosys Pune Campus and I was having Coffee with my Boss and my junior debating and discussing on some current issues when my Boss Nisha, who is a good friend also, suggested me to start my own blog. Knowing me personally, she knew I am fond of debate, discussion, argument. She knew I am fond of writing. She knew I am fond travelling, adventure, meeting new people from different culture, talking endlessly about travel plans. She suggested to start my own blog to pen down my emotions, my thoughts, my way of experiencing life. Offcourse I was not serious initially. I mean I thought it was just a casual, over the coffee cup discussion and hence I parked the idea. But she is a kind of woman who never gives up on ideas and end result is me creating my own blog today and posting my first blog.
Why Bohemian!
While life has its own unique way of baffling us, we should have the spirit of being unconventional and redefining our avenues amidst all odds. It is a bohemian heart which keeps our dreams alive !
This first post would be dedicated to Nisha who inspired (literally gave me timeline just like my office deliverable) me to start my own blog.
My up coming posts would be based on my journey so far, me as an unconventional thinker and my travel babble.
Till then keep reading , enjoy blogging!
Love,
Arpita
